Interviewed on 1690 AM Radio

On March 25, 2016, I had the unique experience of being interviewed by Radio Host Sandra Hughes for her program, The Voice of the Arts, on 1690 AM Radio. The program will air Sunday, May 8, 2016 and WednesIMG_6089day, May 11, 2016 at 7 p.m., and then will be archived and available on talk radio, 1690 AM Radio website for future listening.

Now for the fun part: I had a quiet moment in the green room before Sandra introduced me to the courteous and patient staff, and we jumped into a discussion about why I wrote WELL OF RAGE and my creative process. Thrilled, I stood in front of a microphone and read a few pages of my debut novel, my hard-copy baby.

I’ve wrestled two-hundred pound drunks on morning watch while on duty as a cop, but I admit an on–the-air radio studio with a sound board and multiple gigantic microphones is a bit intimidating. The whole recording took about an hour that will be edited down to twenty minutes. By the way, did you know there are certain, mildly offensive bleep words, dialogue or not, you can’t say on radio? More importantly, I can’t thank Sandra Hughes and 1690 AM Radio enough for providing me and other writers the chance to spotlight our work.

The WELL OF RAGE book launch is set for The Decatur Book Festival, September 2-4, 2016 in downtown Decatur, Georgia.
